On the night before Monday, there were rocket alarms in the Israeli city of Ashkelon with 120,000 inhabitants. The rocket, which was fired at the Gaza Strip, was shot down by the anti-missile system Iron Dome, and the city’s residents heard several loud bangs. No one was injured, writes the Times of Israel.
The rocket attack came just hours after Israel attacked two Hamas positions on Sunday night. The Israeli attack was a response to explosives being sent into Israel earlier Sunday using many helium balloons.
On Monday morning, the Israeli defense responded to the rocket attack by Moed Ashkelon by bombing several Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
