Twelve soldiers were wounded, one of them seriously, when they were hit early Thursday morning in Jerusalem. Police believe it is a terrorist attack and that the driver of the car drove the soldiers down on purpose, writes Times of Israel.
The motorist allegedly drove from the scene after the attack. The car was later found abandoned in the town of Beit Jala outside Bethlehem, but the suspect remains at large.
The soldiers were allegedly part of the Golani Brigade and were on tour in Jerusalem before attending a military ceremony at the Wailing Wall later in the day.
One of the wounded soldiers is in critical condition, one soldier is moderately wounded. The other soldiers are reportedly slightly injured.
The attack came hours after the Hamas terrorist group called on the Palestinians to escalate confrontations with Israel.
