On Wednesday afternoon, four rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip. Two rockets were fired by the Iron Dome rocket defense, while two exploded in deserted areas. There are no reports of injuries, writes Ha’aretz.
Hundreds of Israelis in local communities along the Gaza border had to run to safety when the alarm went off. The rocket attack has come after several weeks of calm in the area.
It is three weeks since rockets were last fired from Gaza against Israel. At the time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had to be evacuated to safety during his speech to a larger audience in the city of Ashkelon. The Israeli defense responded to the attack by bombing several Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, including a training camp.
