-For several years, our allies have expressed uncertainty about Iran’s destabilizing activities in the Middle East. We agree that Iran must never develop nuclear weapons, we share concerns about Iran’s missile tests, and we are united in condemning Iran’s support for various terrorist groups, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a press conference on 6 January. He stressed that Iran must refrain from more violence and provocation.

To NRK, Stoltenberg commented on the US targeted assassination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

-This decision was made by the United States. It was not taken by either the international coalition or NATO. But all allies are concerned about Iran’s destabilizing activities in the region, their support for various terrorist organizations and their recent attacks on civilian energy structures in Saudi Arabia or coalition bases important in the fight against international terrorism, Stoltenberg said.
