David Arachamiya, the leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Ukrainian parliament, announced on February 5 that Oleksiy Reznikov would cease his function in the Ministry of Defence.
Kyrylo Budanov, the former head of military intelligence, was to be appointed to his post.
Reznikov himself was to be transferred to the Ministry of Strategic Industry to “strengthen military-industrial cooperation/' target='_blank'>cooperation”.

Speculations on the future of Oleksiy Reznikov
Ukrainian media had previously speculated about the future of Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov and his possible loss of office.
The case was related to tenders for the supply of food and equipment for soldiers.
The Ministry initiated an audit of all orders for the army.
In early February, Reznikov announced that he was ready to resign if the president wanted it.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine is conducting a wide-ranging investigation/' target='_blank'>investigation into overcharging the prices of goods and equipment for the Ukrainian armed forces.
It is estimated that the Ukrainian budget could lose a total of UAH 2 billion, i.e. over PLN 230 million.
Reznikov, who has been in office since 2021, is a lawyer and local government official.
Previously, he was the Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories.
