Both Israel and Hezbollah have denied rumors that Israel was behind the explosion.

Qatar and Iran have also offered aid to Lebanon.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known.

The explosion comes at a critical time for Lebanon. The country is in the midst of a serious economic crisis and the Corona crisis. Many have lost their jobs, poverty is rising and the value of people’s savings has disappeared as the Lebanese pound has fallen into free fall against the dollar.

The hospitals in Beirut are now working in total chaos after the explosion and several wounded are being treated in parking lots or other random places.

It is expected that the number of injured and dead will increase in the coming days.
