On November 18, the chairman of the Danish Palestinian Friendship Association (DPV), Fathi El-Abed, wrote, among other things, that “Israel’s blockade is suffocating all life in Gaza,” in a column in Politiken.

On November 19, Infinitum News made a fact check of Fathi El-Abed’s description of Gaza and corrected the DPV’s raw anti-Israel propaganda. Infinitum News asked Politiken to print our answer, but got NO! Sad, but not surprising. Read more here.

This was neither the first nor the last time Politiken distorts the reality of Israel and even censors pro-Israel voices from its columns. It is extremely problematic that Israel haters, time after time, get Politiken’s stamp of approval to spread untrue allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations about Israel, while Israel’s friends do not get column space.

One of the most recent examples is Israel’s Deputy Ambassador, Davy Antebi, who received NO from Politiken, who would not bring his response to raw anti-Israel propaganda in the newspaper on 8 February.

Here is the Israeli ambassador’s answer to Politiken on Facebook:

Benny

MIFF supports the Israeli embassy’s legitimate desire to tell the truth about Israel to the Danes. Therefore, we bring here Antebi’s answer in its full length:

A VACCCINE THAT TELLS THE TRUTH – POST AMBASSADOR DAVY ANTEBI’S POST

The 8th. February 2021, Politiken printed a post that contained false statements and strongly criticized Israel’s vaccine strategy – the embassy’s official response from Deputy Ambassador Davy Antebi, Politiken has chosen not to print, which is why we bring the answer in its entirety here:

I Contrary to what was claimed in a post in Politiken on 8 February 2021, Israel has already vaccinated all people in prisons, including Palestinian prisoners. There has been no racial and / or nationality requirement, which is otherwise also claimed in the mentioned post. We certainly live in the era of “fake news”. It has become incredibly easy to contribute to this cycle of false information, and you can even get it published in an otherwise serious newspaper like Politiken. Such blatant lies create a negative image of Israel, instead of calling for more cooperation/' target='_blank'>cooperation.

Let’s start with some of the facts that are deliberately omitted: The Palestinian Authority (PA) and its Minister of Health confirmed earlier this month that Ramallah had secured a supply of about 10,000 Corona vaccines.

It has been known for several months that PA has negotiated with various providers and international organizations to secure the vaccines. In December 2020, the PA announced that the purchase of 4 million vaccines from the Russians had been secured, corresponding to 70% of the Palestinian population. Israel has done nothing to prevent this process, instead it has even been offered several times to help with the logistics for the roll-out of the Palestinian vaccines, which also includes thousands of vaccines from Russia, which the PA has also announced they possess. Furthermore, it should be noted that Israel has continuously transferred critical medical equipment to the West Bank and Gaza.

Palestinian health personnel have been supervised by Israeli doctors. This has happened despite a steady stream of rockets fired from Gaza against Israel from terrorists without any consideration for the innocent citizens living among them. Palestinian patients have also continued to come to Israel and receive critical medical treatment. The most prominent has been the well-known Palestinian leader Saeb Erekat, who without any conditions received in-depth treatment at the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.

The PA is solely responsible for the health sector in their own area.
. According to the Oslo Accords and other agreements concluded between Israel and the PA, which are internationally recognized (also in Denmark and in the EU), which fall under civil administration, including the health sector, exclusively under the PA. The PA does not always work for the best solutions for its people, but rather for the political situation.

It is actually true that there is a lack of political will, as the post in Politiken claimed, but it is from PA. For several months, the PA tried to deny Palestinians receiving medical treatment in Israel, solely for political reasons, as all cooperation/' target='_blank'>cooperation cooperation/' target='_blank'>cooperation-with-israel/' target='_blank'>cooperation-with-israel/' target='_blank'>with Israel was suspended. The PA has also refused to receive equipment en route to its population when an Emirates plane landed in Israel in June 2020. Finally, it should also be mentioned that the PA for several months for political reasons has refused to receive millions of Euros in tax payments from Israel, which is otherwise usually transmitted every month, which has led to even more suffering among its own population and something which has also exacerbated the Corona crisis. This large sum of money could have been spent a long time ago to purchase even more vaccines. The PA is aware of its own failure and in light of the growing criticism from the Palestinian people, a classic smear campaign has been launched against Israel, where the mentioned post about Israel is an excellent example.

Unfortunately, as always, this includes outrageous allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations/' target='_blank'>allegations of racial discrimination against Israel. In fact, Israel has vaccinated tens of thousands of Palestinians in East Jerusalem, most of whom are not Israeli citizens. Israel has even donated 5,000 vaccines to health workers from the PA, a humanitarian gesture. Israel is the first and so far only country to have done this in the world. “
